  • Button and Leather thong closure, hand cast in our Oberon metal casting shop.
Journals - Large 6 x 9 inches or Small 5 x 6.875 inches
  • Book Insert included: blank, hardbound, unlined, made with recycled, heavy bond, acid free paper with a lined template sheet for straight lined writing. Simply place the template behind the page as you write. The bold lines show through just enough.
  • Book Insert size: Large 5.5 x 8.5 inches with 208 pages / Small 4.25 x 6.25 inches with 220 pages
  • Weight with book in cover:Large 1.6 lb / Small .80 lb.
  • Large Journal is a great fit for standard A5 size notebook fillers. (*A5 standard international paper size – 5.8 x 8.3 inches / 148 x 210 mm. *Dimensions vary slightly between "standard" A5 notebooks. A notebook that is similar to these dimensions will work, just make sure that the spine isn't too deep (7/8 inch or less).

  • Includes a built-in elastic strap place holder, hand cast Britannia pewter button and leather thong closure.
  • Fits notebooks in the 5.25 x 8.25 inch size, including Moleskine brand notebooks.

Large Notebook Covers vs Large Journals. What is the difference?

Our full grain custom tanned domestic bullhide is drum dyed for a rich saturated color. It has a medium firm temper which will get soft and supple with use, while still keeping it's structured shape.

Small healed scars, bites and stretch marks may be visible and are evidence of the life of the cow. These perfect imperfections are part of what makes your leather piece unique and beautiful.

Please note, variations in lighting, photography, screen settings and dye lots do occur. These photos are representative only and may not exactly match what you will see in real life. Our handmade leather products are made right here in our studio workshop when you place your order.
Normal production time for a Leather Cover is 3-5 weekdays (more time may be needed for personalized orders or during the height of the holiday season).

    Paisley Fun

    If you like paisley and leather...then this is a dynamic combination. The rich detail that has been incorporated into this journal cover is a delight for the eyes and the tactile sensation of touching the pattern with your fingers is a wonder. A sturdy piece that will take the abuse of lots of table tops and endless book bags, but a colorful delight with the silver button and leather pockets. Looking forward to years of use.

    The red is such a wonderful true red in this luxurious leather. This is my third Oberon cover and probably won’t be my last. I opted for the pen loop this time. Though convenient, it is too narrow to hold my fountain pen so I keep my second favorite looped in instead.
